In order to protect the business of our official show photographer, Middleburg Classic Horse Show has established this photography policy. In this social media, smart phone, day and age, capturing and sharing images from events has never been easier. We want to encourage all our attendees to fully enjoy their experiences at the Salem Show Grounds and treasure the special memories for generations to come. However, it is still extremely important that we protect and respect the contracted show photographer who makes their livelihoods providing high quality, professional images for our exhibitors.

The following guidelines are expected to be abided by all visitors to Salem Show Grounds

• Visitors, spectators and exhibitors at Salem Show Grounds are permitted to take photographs and record video for personal use only

• Only our official appointed event photographer is allowed to take competitor images and sell them to the public

• ‍  ‍‍Media representatives with approved credentials are the only exception‍  ‍‍

  • ‍Agencies or individuals representing riders with whom they have an ongoing contracted agreement must go through the proper channels for approval, prior to the start of competition, to be on premises during the Middleburg Classic Horse Show. They may capture still photography and short video content of their represented riders at Salem Show Grounds. Video clips must be under 30-seconds in length and the resulting content must tag @middleburgclassichorseshow when posted. Still photography must be limited to the pre-submitted list of riders. The list must be submitted by September 15, 2026 to cavaletticonsultingllc@gmail.com. 

• No other individual or company has permission to take images of multiple competitors and sell them to members of the public or publish online/on social media

  • ‍‍Professional photography equipment, including, but not limited to, cameras with lenses longer than 4 inches, tripods, monopods, or any video camera mounted on a tripod or other stabilizing device are not permitted under any circumstances

All media credential requests must be accompanied by a completed USEF Participant Waiver Release Form. It can be found here.

Courtesy and respect for the safety and enjoyment of riders, horses and all attendees at Salem Show Grounds is expected of all media representatives and content providers. If you are unfamiliar with best practices at an equestrian competition, please talk with Samantha Richards. 

Any individual found in violation of these guidelines will be asked to leave the premises and could be subject to bans from future Salem Show Grounds events.
