Middleburg Classic Sponsor Application

Piedmont Jumper Classic Sponsor Application

Dear Friends,

The Salem Farm Showgrounds in Upperville, Va represents the best of traditional Virginia competition. Virginia is legendary in the horse show world for its natural landscape and hospitality.

The Middleburg Classic, founded in 1993 at Great Meadow, has been recognized as Virginia’s “Horse Show of the Year” many times, is a flagship event for the World Champion Hunter Rider Program, and serves as an important stop on the way to the Indoor Circuit. The Piedmont Jumper Classic is entering its third year as a unique up and coming jumper only event.

We are pleased to announce that the next era of Middleburg will commence at its new, forever home in Upperville alongside Piedmont under the new Management Team of Shelby Bonnie, Virginia Fout, Lauren Peterson, Jen Hicks, and Middleburg’s returning Founding Member, Scott Williamson. The Middleburg Classic will continue to offer AA rated hunters September 18-22 and will collaborate with the Piedmont Jumper Classic Level 2 jumper event September 26-29.

Together the shows will continue Middleburg’s tradition of honoring the members of our horse show community who were lost to AIDS. Proceeds will aid Food & Friends in their mission of providing vital nutrition to individuals living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life threatening illnesses. Caroline Moran and Nardeen Henderson provided the driving spirit and support to the show for 25 years and many of their Middleburg traditions remain: The Silent Auction, The Grooms Raffle, and the much appreciated Reception by the Chefs of Food & Friends.

It is our intent and hope to restore Middleburg to its celebrated early years and to continue to grow Piedmont. The long term plan is to fully merge the two shows under the Middleburg Classic banner, but we need to establish our financial footing before that is possible. There is much time, effort and financial support necessary to make this a reality. To get the show back to its best years we need past and present sponsors to commit financially and reestablish a strong volunteer base.

Sponsorship opportunities are offered here for both events and you are welcome to support either or both. Events like these are important to the area and should be a reflection of our community. There are many options available including divisions, awards, and title sponsorships to our featured classes. Opportunities also exist to support hospitality events and to contribute Silent Auction items.

We ask that you join us and choose something that works for you and for Virginia!

Sincerely,

Shelby Bonnie           Virginia Fout           Jen Hicks        Lauren Peterson        Scott Williamson
